What is Body Stress Release?

If you’ve been living with pain, tension, or discomfort for a while, you may have asked yourself:

“Why does this keep coming back?”
“Why isn’t anything fixing it?”

Body Stress Release (BSR) offers a different way of understanding what’s happening in your body, and a gentle way to help it recover.

So… what is Body Stress Release?

Body Stress Release is a gentle technique that helps your body let go of stored tension. Over time, your body experiences physical, emotional, and chemical stress. This could be things like:

  • sitting for long hours

  • injuries or falls

  • emotional pressure or life stress

  • poor sleep or ongoing fatigue

Instead of always releasing this stress, the body sometimes holds onto it, especially in muscles and connective tissue. This is what we call “stored body stress.”

What does “stored stress” mean?

When stress builds up, the body can start to protect itself. It does this by:

  • tightening muscles

  • restricting movement

  • creating tension patterns

At first, this is helpful — it’s your body trying to cope. But over time, these patterns can lead to:

  • pain or stiffness

  • reduced flexibility

  • pressure on nerves

  • recurring or chronic discomfort

Your body isn’t broken — it’s holding on too tightly.

How does BSR help?

Body Stress Release works by gently stimulating specific points on the body. These points help the nervous system recognise where tension is being held, so the body can begin to release it naturally.

There is:

  • no force

  • no cracking

  • no aggressive manipulation

The technique is precise, gentle, and deeply respectful of your body.

What happens during a session?

During a session:

  • You stay fully clothed

  • You lie comfortably on a bed

  • I use gentle, targeted pressure in specific areas

Many people feel:

  • deeply relaxed

  • a sense of release

  • subtle shifts in the body

Sometimes, nothing obvious is felt straight away, and that’s completely normal. The body continues to respond after the session, often over several days.

Why are 3 sessions recommended?

Body Stress Release works as a process, not a quick fix. That’s why we start with day 1, day 4 and day 11. This allows your body to:

  1. begin releasing tension

  2. adjust and respond

  3. continue releasing in layers

Each session builds on the previous one.

Is it normal to feel worse before feeling better?

Yes — and this can actually be a positive sign. As the body starts releasing stored tension, you might experience:

  • temporary soreness

  • tiredness

  • slight increase in symptoms

This usually settles as your body adjusts. Healing is not always a straight line, it’s a process of change.

A different way of looking at your body

Body Stress Release is not about forcing the body to change.

It’s about:

  • listening

  • supporting

  • allowing

Your body already knows how to heal. Sometimes, it just needs the right conditions to let go.

Final thought

If you’ve tried different approaches and feel like nothing has truly helped, it doesn’t mean your body is failing. It may simply mean your body is still holding onto stress. And when that stress begins to release, things can start to shift.
